The Philani Nutrition Centre - Khayelitsa, South Africa
The Mayebuye Nutrition Rehabilitation Center is a nutrition centre and workshop for young mothers living in the township of Khayelitsa, on the outskirts of Cape Town. It was constructed under the inspiration of The Most Reverend Desmond M. Tutu D.D. F.K.C., Archbishop Emeritus of the Anglican Church of South Africa, and the direction of Dr. Ingrid Le Roux, in collaboration with the Philani Nutrition Centres.

In July 1992, HRH Princess Irene of Greece, President of World in Harmony, gave instructions for the transfer of $51,000 to the Philani Nutrition Centres for the construction of this new nutrition clinic. When it was suggested that the clinic be named in honour of Princess Irene, she refused, requesting that it be called a name the people may like. 'Mayebuye' was the name chosen by the people, which means 'Come Back Africa', i.e. 'Africa, free to be herself'. This is in the language spoken in the area where the Mayebuye Centre is located.

World in Harmony also provided financial support to cover the needs of approximately 60 preschool children of the weavers learning a trade at the weaving factory run by the Mayebuye Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres.

Moreover, support was provided for three one-year programs, for the training and education of the women and children of the Mayebuye Nutrition Rehabilitation Center.
