King Constantine and his family visit Greece
King Constantine and members of his family visited Greece for a short trip on February 15. The purpose of the visit was the performance of a memorial service on the joint anniversary of his parents', King Paul and Queen Frederica's, passing. The former King was accompanied by Queen Anne-Marie, Crown Prince Pavlos and his wife Marie-Chantal, Princess Alexia and her husband Carlos Morales Quintana, and Prince Nikolaos.

The former Royal family landed in Athens airport on the noon of Saturday, February 15, from where they headed directly to Tatoi estate, the family's former Athens residence.

King Constantine would like to thank all those who contributed to a discreet and simple ceremony.

The family was accompanied by Mr Constantine Strongylos, Miss Aliki Strongylos, and Mr Nasos Thanopoulos. They were greeted at the airport by Mr George Karamitsos and Mr Kuriakos Koukoulomatis.

Following the service, the Greek Royal family joined friends for lunch at the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club, which hosts the Dragon type sailing boat with which King Constantine and his co-athletes won the gold medal at the 1960 Olympic Games.

During their brief visit, the family had the opportunity to see old friends and spend Sunday morning on a tour around Athens.

Amongst his impressions from the trip, King Constantine conveys his satisfaction with the smooth course of the visit and the emotion from the moments he spent at his parents' graves.

Further impressions and comments from members of the former Greek Royal family, will soon be hosted on this site.
