31 May 2002 The Greek Government submits a second valuation of the properties in question; the response from the European Court of Human Rights In their submission to the Court on April 16th, the Greek Government presented a new valuation of the three properties, Tatoi, Mon Repos and Polydendri. In this new report, which does not match the depth and quality of the Lambert Smith Hampton one, the Government is trying to reduce the estimated market value from 187 billion drs to 118 billion drs. If nothing else, the price of the property has shot up by more than 40% in the two years from June 2000 (when the Government presented the LSH report) to April 2002. The Court has announced through a letter to both parties involved that it will not accept any more reports or observations as it believes that it has now all the necessary information to reach a decision as to the level of compensation.
